~ We support diversity, equality and inclusion — for people and nature. ~

On choosing to be agents of change. In recognition of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

January 17, 2026

"The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice."

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

King Day ~ Monday, January 19, 2026

We find ourselves in a very uncomfortable place this year as we approach MLK Day. History is rising up and challenging us to take a stand.

There is an opportunity in front of us all. We each have choices to make about who we are and where we stand — how and when we will speak up and act out, or remain silent and be complicit.

While remembering the work and life of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we encourage you to take some time right now to consider your personal choices about who you want to be and how you will act. Name those choices, write them down.

Then use the tools you have at hand to support yourself in being that person, and move forward with meaningful action on matters that are important to you.

Inspired by Dr. King, drawing from history, relevant now, we share this to get you thinking and because it stirs the soul:

This year, [composer Nolan Williams, Jr.] wrote a piece for the [annual Let Freedom Ring] event called "Just Like Selma," inspired by one of King's most famous quotes, "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice." Williams says sometimes the quote is "interpreted in a passive way."

"The arc doesn't just happen to move. We have to be agents of change. We have to be active arc movers, arc benders," said Williams. "And so throughout the song you hear these action words like 'protest,' 'resist,' 'endure,' 'agitate,' 'fight hate.' And those are all the action words that remind us of the responsibility that we have to be arc benders."

Be An Arc Bender

When you’ve written who you want to be at this moment in history, here’s how you can support that:

State your focus and take a dose of Essence of Perelandra (EoP) while holding that focus in mind for 10 seconds. One dose of EoP is 10 drops.

Some examples —

Say out loud: "I'd like to focus this dose of Essence of Perelandra to help me be courageous, calm and clear in my stance when faced with (or witnessing) racism, hatred or unjust actions." Take one dose of EoP while you're thinking about this goal for 10 seconds.

Or say out loud: "This dose of EoP is to add balance to how I function in and/or relate to ____ ____ ____ [describe the challenging situation, task or relationship, such as racist family members, misogynistic or abusive co-worker, work assigned that goes against core beliefs or morality, etc.]." Take one dose of EoP while thinking about this goal for 10 seconds.

Or say out loud: "This dose of EoP is to help me think and act in ways that are aligned with my core beliefs about how others are to be treated." Take 10 drops of EoP while thinking about this goal for 10 seconds.

When you’ve written the way you want to take action during this moment in history, here’s how you can support that goal:

1. Focus your attention on the kind of action you aim to take and state: "I wish to set up with nature to shift Essence of Perelandra." Wait 10 seconds.

2. Define/describe your goal succinctly. Write it down or say it aloud.

If you have a particular project you are working on or involved in, name that and shift EoP to it. For example:

"To plan a non-violent, effective protest against ____ in ____ [my town]."

"To provide food for my neighbors who are currently unable to safely go out for groceries."

"To present my views on ____ ____ ____ [local issue] in a clear, concise and effective manner at the next county board meeting."

"To remain non-violent, safe from harm and as much as possible, keep others safe from harm during our neighborhood protest today."

Your goal can also be general, to support your getting involved in a project that is aligned with what you care about. For instance:

"I'd like to demonstrate respect for others in the actions I take daily."

"I'd like to engage in my community in ways that help bridge differences and work toward common goals."

"I'd like to take a clear stand against racism at every opportunity I have, in ways that are clear, non-violent and effective."

"I’d like to help create a safe environment for my neighbors, help them keep their children safe and always treat them with respect and kindness."

"I’d like to better understand my own prejudices and how they impact my thoughts and actions."

"I would like to find and do work for a group involved with environmental justice."

3. Place 10 drops of Essence of Perelandra in a clean spoon.

4. Hold the spoon out in front of you and say, "I wish to shift these Essence of Perelandra drops to the goal that I've described." Hold the spoon out in front of you for 10 seconds. The shift occurs automatically.

5. After 10 seconds, the shift is complete and you are finished. Wipe or wash off the spoon.

Remember, nature did the shift for you, so you might want to give a little tip of the hat to nature and thank it before moving on with the rest your day!

Do this shift daily for the next two weeks. And pay attention as you move through your days. As opportunities present themselves and ideas pop into your mind, try them out. This is nature partnering with you and supplying support that will help you reach your goal.

At the end of two weeks, decide if more support is needed for your goal. Or if you would like to refine your initial statement or address a new goal.

Note: You may notice some similarity with the examples for taking EoP orally and the examples for applying EoP to your goals. Sometimes, it may be appropriate for you to do both for the same goal. The oral dose is strengthening and supporting your ability to meet the challenge. The nature shift is balancing and supporting the external dynamics related to your goal.

If you're struggling with a mental/emotional issue that's tripping you up or making it difficult for you to respond to what's happening in the world, start here:

Take two doses of Essence of Perelandra (EoP), ten seconds apart. One dose of EoP is 10 drops.

Dose 1: Say aloud and focus on this when you take EoP:

"This is for my general strength and stability as it relates to ____ ____ ____ [name the issue you're struggling with]."

Wait 10 seconds.

Dose 2: Say aloud and focus on this when you take EoP again:

"This is to address/resolve ____ ____ ____ [name the issue]." or

"This is to help me ____ ____ ____ [name the issue]."

Here's a real-life example, with their exact wording.

Says aloud (dose 1): "This EoP is for my general strength and support as it relates to my paralyzing rage and sorrow when I think about or try to do something about _______."
Takes 10 drops of EoP while thinking about that statement.
Waits 10 seconds.
Says aloud (dose 2): "This EoP is to help me resolve my rage and sorrow about _______ so I'm not paralyzed by it and can move forward in a healthy way."
Takes 10 drops of EoP while thinking about that issue statement.
Waits 10 seconds.
Gets on with it.

If you're not sure whether your focus/issue/challenge calls for EoP, or if you should take one dose or two:

For some of you, examples we're offering may be best addressed following the 2-step approach. And for others, the 1-step (1 dose) approach is all that's needed.

If you're not using PKTT at this time, and what you wish to address feels more health related (physical, emotional, mental) rather than goal related, you can simply follow the 2-step process. That way, you've covered your bases.

If you use PKTT (kinesiology), test this. See page 5 of your EoP Brochure for the steps.

Don't have EoP yet?

You can still ask for nature's help. Here's how.

Answering the call to serve your community.

Many of us are too young to have participated in the civil rights protests in the U.S. during the early 1960s and the Vietnam War protests of the late 1960s to early 70s. But most of us have seen videos and read about the violence perpetrated by men holding a badge or wearing a military uniform, against protesters during those times. Some of us witnessed, through news reports at the time, the massacre of students demonstrating in Tiananmen Square, Beijing in 1989. Now, in just the past few weeks, we've seen thousands of protesters massacred in Iran, while in the U.S., government violence against American protesters and activists has quickly escalated.

There are a few people still living who fought in and lived through WWII and know firsthand the dangers of fascism. The rest of us only know this from what may have been shared by the people in our lives who lived it, and mostly through history classes and documentaries. Few of us expected the quick return of such fascism, and not in the U.S. And some are surprised at the fast uncovering and allowing of racism to rise and ethnic targeting again in the U.S.

We have the opportunity to learn from history, and we can draw on the inspiration and the roadmaps of those who came before us. Sending this email to you is one way that we're choosing to step out of our comfort zone to follow their, and Machaelle's example.

If you’d like ideas and support on how to move forward and impact change in our government and military systems (at any level, in any locality or country where you live), here's where to start:

In the words of Dr. King:

Greatness is determined by service!

Make a career of humanity.
Commit yourself to the noble struggle for equal rights.
You will make a better person of yourself,
a greater nation of your country,
and a finer world to live in.
