Outbreaks and Your Animals

Update: January 2025

About Outbreaks and Your Animals
PIC List Testing is an easy, comprehensive option.

Those of you who have been Perelandra customers since at least 2005 know that Machaelle has been paying attention to the evolution of avian flu for quite some time.

This is a recent, good, no-nonsense article summarizing the current situation:

Bird flu Q&A: What to know to help protect yourself and your pets
[NPR, December 30, 2024]

If you have a flock of birds of any size, or cattle, we encourage you to follow the CDC and your state/local Department of Agriculture recommendations for protecting your animals and yourself. Be smart and conscious of the role you play in protecting all of us from unnecessary spread and contact with this disease.

Backyard Flock Owners: Protect Yourself from Bird Flu
[CDC, May 3, 2024]

PIC List Testing is a simple and comprehensive way to work with Perelandra Solutions and Essences to address any outbreak that shows up (or is looking more and more likely to show up) in your neighborhood.

You may already use PIC List Testing for yourself. Did you know you can use it for your animals? Yes, you can!

milesWhen you use PIC List Testing for your animal(s), you don't have to put any drops into the animal's mouth. This makes it an exceptionally good option for your finicky furred, feathered and scaled companions.

PIC is the best approach for flocks, herds and animals for which it would be impractical to administer drops individually.

Use PIC List Testing for the family dog, for your flock of backyard hens, for your herd of cattle, for your horse that you board at a nearby stable — for any of your animals that spend time outdoors and therefore could be exposed to avian flu in the ways it's spreading now.

Note: If you have multiple dogs or cats, you will need to do a separate PIC List test for each of them.

Before you decide if PIC is for you:

You do not need to already have all of the Solutions and Essences. You can buy what you need as it comes up in a PIC Test.

You do not need to know how to muscle test or use PKTT.

You do not need to have any special skills to use PIC.

What you will need is:

• to follow the steps in the PIC Brochure,

• about 15 minutes on test day,

• about 5 minutes twice a day to administer drops during the dosage period,

• a clean plate or tray,

• whichever bottles test positive,

• your focus,

• and the animal(s) you're going to test!

If you aren't up for PIC just yet . . .

You can keep your companion animals shored up with doses of the MBP Immune and Lymphatic Solutions.

And you can use the Perelandra Nature Healing Process for Companion Animals to address potential exposure to avian flu, or any other outbreak of concern.

Removing a Stumbling Block

Sometimes the biggest hurdle folks come up against is how to word the focus of their PIC List Test. There are examples in the articles linked above. Here are a few more examples to help you with this.

Preparation and Strengthening

For the family dog or cat or chinchilla, use this as your PIC List Testing focus: "There's an outbreak of _____________ [name of the pathogen or disease] and I would like to strengthen and prepare _____________ [name of animal] for possible exposure."

For your flock, herd, team, colony, tribe, pack, etc. follow the PIC List Testing guidelines here and use this focus: "Strengthening my __________ [name of herd, flock or animal group] for potential exposure to __________ [name of pathogen or disease] and for dealing with the resulting disease."

Exposure and Illness

For an animal companion, adjust the focus. If they have a PIC Unit to "strengthen for possible exposure," stop administering those drops and test a new PIC List with the adjusted focus: "For moving ____________ [name of pathogen] out of ___________'s [name of animal] system and for shoring up their body and health from any adverse impact caused by the illness."

If your flock/herd have been hit with something, remove the word "potential" from the focus: "Strengthening my __________ [name of herd, flock or animal group] for exposure to __________ [name of pathogen or disease] and for dealing with the resulting disease."

Administer all the needed drops and do all retests until the animal(s) move(s) into the recuperation stage. Then follow the testing guidelines here.

By now you're getting the PIC-ture . . .

And if you're new to this, you may be wondering how you would word the focus for yourself.

Unfortunately, these days, there are many kinds of outbreaks to address. This approach can be used with any issue of concern to you.

Preparation — Use this as your PIC List Testing focus: "There's an outbreak of ______________ [insert the name of the pathogen or disease galloping your way] and I would like to strengthen and prepare for possible exposure." [Learn More]

Illness — If you have a PIC Unit to "strengthen and prepare for possible exposure," stop taking those drops and test a new PIC List with the focus: "For moving ____________ [name of pathogen] out of my system and for shoring up my body and health from any adverse impact caused by the illness." [Learn More]

Take the needed drops twice daily and do all the retests until you move into the recuperation stage. Then follow the guidelines for "Phase 3 Recuperation" here.

Microbial Balancing Program

If you use the Perelandra Microbial Balancing Program (MBP), you can do that for your animals and environment in light of the spread of H5N1. Machaelle explains your options when working with both MBP and PIC here.
