How'd we get here?!

Update: September 10, 2024

How'd we get here?!

We're celebrating Perelandra's 43rd birthday — September 9, 2024. Birthdays often prompt reflection. How'd we get here? In this case, the more accurate question is, "How did Machaelle Wright get us here?"

We thought you might appreciate hearing a little about the “firsts” of Machaelle’s work.

Behaving as if the God in All Life Mattered

by Machaelle Wright

Behaving tells the story of how Perelandra began, of how Machaelle Wright started working with nature intelligence and how you can begin to work with nature in your life for health and ecology.

Machaelle self-published the first edition in 1981 and sold a few copies directly to folks she met at the talks and workshops she was giving at that time. Those folks shared their books with friends and next thing you know, Behaving as if the God in All Life Mattered appeared in a book review in South Africa. Folks started writing to Machaelle to purchase books by mail and things started taking off. Behaving is now in its third edition.

It wasn't long ago that almost everyone's first introduction to Machaelle's work was through Behaving. Now, people enter through many doors (and windows!). So we have a feeling there are lots of you who have never read this book. And we bet a lot of you old timers, like us, haven't read it in a while — or haven't read the most recent edition. Sometimes it's good to go back and find our roots again. Remember why it is we were so drawn to Perelandra and Machaelle's work in the first place — or perhaps discover what's behind that ETS bottle our friend gave us last month. Where did that come from? Or the Digestive System Balancing Solution or MAP or the Nature Program Essences. . . . If you know Perelandra from the label on a bottle and have never read Behaving, you are in for a wonderful discovery. And if you are one of those people who have read this book more than once already, you know how every read is a brand new discovery.

Perelandra Exercises

by Machaelle Wright

As part of Machaelle's "how you can begin working with nature" tools, she offered the four Perelandra Exercises. Then she made it easier for all of us and recorded the instructions for each exercise so that we can do the steps without stopping between each one to re-read the next step.

They're simple. Anyone can do them. They're groundbreaking (especially the Simplified Energy Cleansing Process).

If you're concerned about developing your focus, your clarity, your communication, your working space and how you interact with the form(s) around you, these exercises are not to be underestimated.

Perelandra Rose Essences

(set I)

When it comes to the 89 different bottles of Essences and Solutions, the Perelandra Rose Essences (set I) is where it all started.

Machaelle shares in her second autobiography, Dancing in the Shadows of the Moon, the details of how she had a strong insight about developing the Perelandra Rose Essences one Monday morning — on August 27, 1984 to be exact. The very next spring she worked with nature to develop this set and begin production. They played an important role in stabilizing the Mount Shasta Mission participants, and continue to be invaluable to the healing, balancing and stabilizing of so many Perelandra Essences users around the world.

If you'd like to learn more about Perelandra Essences and how they work, our article from a few weeks ago is a good start: Back to Basics with the Perelandra Essences.

Universal Light Describes Itself
+ Why Earth (or time Out on the Spiritual Path to Recognize the Importance of Physicalness)

from Machaelle Wright

When it comes to those, "WTF am I doing here?" moments — this 'little' monograph is superbly insightful (geez, what an understatement).

It's also comforting, encouraging and a heck of a kick-in-the-pants reminder that what we each do in the here and now with our life on earth is not an exercise in futility. Or at least, it doesn't have to be.
