Caring For Our Companion Animals With Essences

horse-dog-field-sunset_1100x550

Many folks who use the Perelandra Essences have companion animals of all sorts — dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, horses, gerbils, turtles, guinea pigs, fish, etc. Did you know you can use your essences for your animal friends as well?

If you have Perelandra Essences Sets in your home, and have an animal challenged by an issue not covered by the Solutions, surrogate test your animal for essences.

Machaelle devotes an entire chapter to animals in The Perelandra Essences (Ch. 18, pp. 199-207).

In the Q&A portion of Machaelle’s workshop on Essences, she demonstrates a Surrogate Basic Essence Test with an attendee (an adult), and gives tips on how to do surrogate essence testing with a child. You can easily follow those same tips to do a Surrogate Essence Test for your companion animal.

Treating animals with Essences is less complex than for us adult humans. In the book, using ETS for Animals and supporting our animals through death is also covered in detail, including pre- and post-death support, a quick death caused by injury, and euthanasia. Nothing takes away the pain of losing a companion. But having this kind of support can ease the difficult process for us, and them.

Brandy or Vinegar?

Gus, our 17-year Perelandra resident was a refined fellow, but his preference for brandy wasn't his alone. Most animals prefer it.

Lessons and Encouragement from Others

Learn from the successes of others using essences. In those moments when you wonder, "Is anybody else doing this?" or "Am I doing the right thing for my dog?" — read an article or two from our Perelandra Voices newsletters. The stories are grouped by topic and include many about using essences with animals like this:

M.C. Cools His Jets

I recently used an essence to assist my cat, and was thrilled with the results. After being relocated repeatedly within a relatively short time, my neutered, male cat M.C. began to exhibit nightly episodes of aggressive mating behavior from which he could not be distracted. Since I linked it to stress, I just gave him a lot of love and waited for it to pass. After several months, however, I consulted my veterinarian, who prescribed estrogen. M.C.'s response to this approach was to stop using the litter box. I didn't think of the essences all this time, although I use them daily. Then one day, I was leafing through the Essences book and came across the chapter on the use of essences with animals.

Since I have not been able to master kinesiology, I relied on my usual method of selecting the essence that "jumps out at me." In this case, it was Chives. I began to administer it to M.C. according to the instructions in the book.

I'm sure you won't be surprised that the results were nothing short of amazing! The objectionable behavior was completely eliminated from the very first day and has not recurred. There were no untoward side effects or other negative consequences.

I'm so grateful that I was guided to the awareness of flower essences; I share them whenever I can!
