Caring for Your Garden: Sweltering Heat Edition (Tips)

Revised: June 2025

Gardening Series Bonus
Caring for Your Garden
The Sweltering Heat Edition

Every day we celebrate those co-creative gardens of yours that are bringing balance and changing the planet, one patch of ground at a time. . . . Because these times are exactly what co-creative gardening was made for. When your garden is suffering along with you in the sweltering extreme summer heat, it’s time to turn to your partner, nature and ask what to do.

When you wrote your DDP, did you include a note that you would like climate change to be taken into consideration in your garden? If not, you can add this at any time. Although nature will automatically adjust for climate changes in the information given to you, it's helpful for you to remember this is part of your work together.

To add this aspect to your DDP, just pull out your original DDP and add to it, "I'd like climate change to be taken into consideration." Then hit the start button, tell nature you would like to change your garden DDP and re-read the statements in The Perelandra Garden Workbook on page 22, Step 2, inserting your new DDP.

Some Things for All Gardeners to Consider

Hit the start button and ask, "Do I need to apply ETS for Plants or Essence of Perelandra (EoP) to my garden to address the effects of extreme sun and heat?"

If you use PKTT, ask the question and then test. If you're a Gut Gardener, go with your gut! Use the Solution you are drawn to for this.

Then ask how it should be applied. You have options:

"Foliar feed?"
You can use a clean handheld or backpack tank sprayer for this. You will mix the EoP or ETS for Plants into the water (not both at the same time).

"Water in?"
Use the drops ratio listed in the ETS for Plants Brochure.

If you are working with a large area, such as a farm or field, use the nature shift process (or "NS application") as explained in the ETS for Plants Brochure.

IMPORTANT
If you are foliar feeding or watering, do it in the early morning or late evening. Do not do this in the heat of the day.

2.0 Gardeners:  Ask if the Troubleshooting 2.0 Process for Plants (p. 205-206) is needed in light of the extreme sun and heat.

When you have finished, thank your nature partner and hit the stop button.

Wildlife is affected by the heat too!

Ask if the Garden Workbook Troubleshooting 2.0 Process (p. 216) or Nature Healing Process for Garden Wildlife (p. 217) is needed in light of extreme heat.

2.1 Gardeners: Do the 2.1 Troubleshooting Process (p. 297) with the focus on what is needed for your garden and its wildlife in light of climate change, recent weather events or current heat extremes.
